Kia ora Wellington!

We're Pete and Gabrielle! We are bringing to Wellington City Council the awesome tools and best practices from our experience in the tech industry. This means listening to find what is important to community and council folk (you!), then applying our skills and sharing our practices to build solutions.

We have this opportunity thanks to the Code for All Foundation which is making people's lives better in 16 countries.

We're sitting up in the Chief Executive's Office on Level 7. Share your ideas with us. We can help your ideas be heard.

Our approach

Month 1

Listening to your problems, opportunities and ideas. Meeting diverse people from across council and the community.

Month 2

Collating what we've heard, grouping ideas, and choosing a focus

Month 3

Creating!

& beyond

Sharing our work, helping Code for Aotearoa flourish so that other people have the opportunity to collaborate with Government

Feedback from Wellingtonians at our first Civic Lab prototype in the Central Library Foyer. A diverse range of people's ideas: a 12 year old girl; a self proclaimed "27 year old poor queer maori woman" (Who had a lot of awesome thoughts); an elderly chinese woman Sophie; suited business men from the CBD. A really lovely man with some disabilities came and played with us and our bird finger puppet too!
